This time, the complaints involve acceleration incidents that have occurred in the 2010 Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan.

Jury sides with CA man who was injured after striking wild pig

hairy pig 100x100It seems bizarre that a man could be awarded millions of dollars after striking a wild pig while motorcycling along a road in California, but that’s what happened to Adam Rogers, a 45-year-old resident of Seaside. Rogers was biking along Highway 1 in 2003 when he struck the pig around midnight, whereupon he was thrown from his motorcycle, receiving several debilitating and permanent injuries. A former champion kick boxer and karate instructor, Rogers spent months in a coma after the wreck and is now wheelchair bound. He also undergoes intensive physical therapy to this day and will continue to require a great deal of medical attention for the rest of his life.

Energy efficient bulbs should be handled with extreme caution

cfl bulb 150x150Energy efficiency is a great way to save money and help the planet at the same time, and replacing all your old incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) is a great place to start conserving energy. CFL bulbs, however, contain varying degrees of the toxic metal mercury, and should be handled with extreme caution. CFL bulbs are perfectly safe to use, but every precaution should be taken to make sure the bulbs do no break.

Defective switch can cause auto fire

CNNMoney.com reported today that the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued a second warning to owners of selected Ford, Lincoln and Mercury SUVs, pickups, vans and passenger cars to take their vehicles to a local dealership for a cruise control switch repair. The switch, if defective, could lead to a fire at any time, even if the cruise control switch is not in use or the vehicle is turned off, parked and unattended.
