Consumer watchdog announces 10 Worst Toys List

(World Against Toys Causing Harm), a Massachusetts-based consumer watchdog organization, announced its annual “10 Worst Toys” list at a conference in Boston’s Franciscan Hospital for Children. According to the organization’s website, “Founder Edward M. Swartz and W.A.T.C.H. have fearlessly exposed potentially dangerous toys to the general public. As a result, children’s lives have been saved.”

CPSC recalls window blinds that pose risk of strangulation

blind recall 02 150x150The U.S. Consumer Product Commission (CPSC) has announced another voluntary of window blinds that may be unsafe to use, especially in homes or other areas where children can be found. The blinds were distributed by Cost Plus Inc., of Oakland California and sold in Cost Plus and World Market stores from February 2006 to August 2008.

Two CT children fall victim to window blind cords

Two Connecticut children became the unwitting victims of the pull cords on window blinds and shades, which injured one young girl and killed another. Different manufacturers produced the blinds and shades involved in the incidents.
