Toy spa kits recalled for exploding jar cap hazard

bath body 11 150x150The U.S. Consumer Product Commission (CPSC) and JAKKS Pacific Inc. of Malibu California, announced a voluntary of Spa Factory ™ Aromatherapy Fountain & Bath Benefits Kits. Eighty-eight incidents of exploding jars were reported to JAKKS and the CPSC combined, including 13 reported injuries.

Was the Black Friday Wal-Mart trampling anyone’s fault?

After the trampling of a 34-year-old Wal-Mart employee on Black Friday, there is bound to be a lot of finger pointing. Some people who were hurt in the incident blame not just Wal-Mart but the Nassau County Police Department as well. The police, the grocery worker’s union, and others blame Wal-Mart. And Wal-Mart seems to be shrugging its shoulders as if to suggest it’s never before heard of mob mentality and crowd control.

Recalled insulin syringes may be mislabeled

syringes 150x150The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has issued an alert for healthcare professionals and patients that a lot of ReliOn insulin syringes sold at Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club’s may be dangerously mislabeled. The manufacturer of the syringes, Tyco Healthcare Group LP, has voluntarily recalled the needles.

Diabetes patients who use the recalled syringes may inadvertently receive an overdose of up to 2.5 times the intended dose. Possible complications could include hypoglycemia and other serious side effects and death.

father and son sue Wal-Mart for Black Friday stampede injuries

A man and his son who were caught in the crowd that stormed the doors of a Long Island Wal-Mart have now filed a lawsuit against the retail chain for injuries they sustained in the Black Friday incident. The stampede of anxious customers took down the Wal-Mart’s doors as employees began to unlock them, killing one 34-year-old employee.

Was Wal-Mart negligent in the black friday trampling?

An impatient crowd, frenzied by the thought of saving some money this holiday season, pushes through the doors of Wal-Mart as a temporary employee unlocks them early Friday morning. The doors are ripped from their hinges and smashed as the crowd pushes forward, trampling the holiday worker and others caught underfoot.

Delta cribs recalled after babies die

As we have been reporting, according to the Associated Press, on October 20, 2008, 1.6 million cribs were recalled after the death of two eight-month-old infants. The infants became stuck in the gaps of the cribs, resulting in them both suffocating.  In Delta Enterprise Cribs, if pegs are not installed or fail to engage, the drop-side separates, resulting in a gap in which babies can get stuck.
